|Snow Foam - What is it and do I need it?||Snow Foam is a pre-wash method designed to draw the harsh surface contaminants off the vehicle prior to hand washing. If you were to hand wash without the Pre-Wash, there is a change of rubbing those contaminants into the paint causing scratches and swirl marks.|
|2 Bucket Wash Method? What is it and why do I do it?||The 2 bucket wash method Coming Soon....|
|Clay. What is it, what does it do and how often does it need to be done?||Claying a vehicle’s paint is required when contaminants from industrial fallout or road grime are stuck to the paint’s surface. You will feel the paint’s surface is rough to the touch. Easiest way to test if your vehicle requires claying, take a freezer bag over your hand then rub it across the paint. If it glides then the surface is free from contaminants. If it is rough and makes a scratching sound then it requires claying to remove those contaminants. The vehicle will need to be polished after clay to close the paint. Clay will microscopically open the paint. While claying the paint, the windows get clayed to remove any road grime and encrusted contaminants before a thorough clean with glass cleaner. A glass coating can then be applied if the customer wishes.|
|Paint Correction/Polishing - What is it and how long does it take?|
Depending on the defects and size of the area I perform both methods but don't use any polishes that contain fillers. The time taken to correct and polish a vehicle depends on the level of defects and gloss that the customer wants. The more time allowed to correct and enhance the gloss the better the finish will be.
|Paint Protection – Wax, Sealant or Glass Coating. Which one do I use?|
Wax: There are many waxes on the market also. Carnauba wax is the most desired. Be sure when purchasing a wax that it is actually a wax. Some products claim to be the ultimate in waxes however contain no wax at all and instead have synthetic ingredients. Depending on the use of the vehicle you can expect wax to last up to 6 months for garage kept vehicles that see the elements maybe once a week. For daily drivers it is not unusual for wax to deteriorate over a week to two.
Sealants: There are many paint sealants on the market also so do some research and know what you’re expecting the product to do for you. Sealants can last between 6 and 12 months some longer dependent on the maintenance of the vehicle.
Glass Coating: Cquartz UK by CarPro is a revolutionary nano technology SiO2 (silica) based glass coating whose protection is measured in terms of years, not months or seasons. UK has been designed with user simplicity in mind and is one of the easiest products to apply in the new range of ceramic coatings to have recently taken the paint protection market by storm.
